Congolese artists enlisted to support AMADE Mondiale
Works by artists from Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire and Zimbabwe, as well as the Democratic Republic of Congo, were exhibited in the very heart of London at British auction house Bonhams. The World Association of Children's Friends (AMADE Mondiale), which is very active in the Congo, was keen to showcase the country, associating art with a great cause. Proceeds from the sale of eight works will be donated to AMADE Mondiale, which is chaired by H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover, and to the charity Malaika. Among the artists who agreed to take part in the event were Jean-Pierre Bers, better known as “Grandsinge”, and Aimé Mpane. A total of more than 16,000 euros was raised for AMADE Mondiale and Malaika.
