On 19 July 2022, Monaco’s Ambassador to the United States held a reception both to celebrate the anniversary of H.S.H. Prince Albert II’s accession and to mark forty years since the death of Princess Grace, whose timeless style and elegance are on display to the public at the Hillwood Museum Estate and Gardens through the Grace of Monaco: Princess in Dior exhibition.
H.E. Ms Maguy Maccario Doyle, Monaco’s Ambassador to the United States and Canada, welcomed a hundred guests from the worlds of diplomacy, politics and culture. They included the Ambassadors of France, Jordan, Portugal, Slovakia, Rwanda and Yemen, officials from the White House and State Department, representatives from cultural institutions such as the Kennedy Center, the Smithsonian Institution, the Motion Picture Association of America and the Princess Grace Foundation–USA, and the Executive Director of the Hillwood Museum.
In her speech, the Ambassador invited her guests to raise a toast to the work of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince in the fields of the environment, sustainable development and the arts, and to the memory of Princess Grace of Monaco.
The Ambassador also took this opportunity to announce several forthcoming events, such as the first performance of the Ballets de Monte-Carlo at the Kennedy Center at the end of November, an exhibition of photographs in partnership with the Prince Albert II Foundation, also at the Kennedy Center, and an exhibition of photographs entitled “Legends of Monaco” at the French Embassy’s Maison Française.
Finally, the guests were treated to a cocktail that had been specially created for the occasion, the “Grace of Monaco” (to be consumed in moderation).
