The Graduation Ceremony 2016 of the International University of Monaco was held on Saturday June 18that the Grimaldi Forum.
Two hundred and sixty students from over fifty countries around the world were present at the Grimaldi Forum to celebrate the most important milestone of their studies: the Graduation ceremony 2016. The event took place in the prestigious Salle des Princes of the Grimaldi Forum, famous congress & business center of the Principality. Families, friends, professors and classmates were all present to applaud their graduates. This year, students graduated from the Bachelors, Masters, MBA, and EMBA programs.

The International University of Monaco opened its doors in 1986 with thirty five students in two programs (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and MBA). Since then a lot of achievements have been done: Association of MBAs (AMBA) accreditation in 2005, launch of five different master degrees between 2008 and 2012, launch of the AMAF Certification, many partnerships with companies (among the latest Barclays) and other universities (the most recent one signed with MGIMO University in Moscow), and more recently the launch of a new course in Yachting Management within the MSc in luxury Management program. 30 years later, the International University of Monaco offers four specializations at the Bachelor level, three masters (finance, luxury and management with several tracks), an AMBA accredited MBA and a DBA and counts now more than six hundred students.

The first half of the ceremony was highlighted by the diploma deliveries by cohorts, along with the recognition of students who distinguished themselves with honors.
The second part started with the IUM “Best School Spirit Award” prize that was won by Jad Cuffat, MSc in Finance student this year; This award aims to reward a student elected by his/her fellows, who has displayed an unwavering dedication to the core values of the school: respect for others, honesty, integrity, cultural awareness, team spirit and a strong sense of ethics.
Since many years now, IUM is proud of its special partnership with Société Générale Monaco that sponsors the Class Valedictorian prizes. Our nine valedictorians (Birute Molyte, Undergraduate; Dmitrii Korzun, MSc in Finance; Maxime Zerbib, MSc Sport Business Management; Dinora Savova, MSc in International Management; Thomas Hemelsdaël, MSc in Marketing; Marina Linares Guerrero, MSc in Luxury Management; Ellen Kim, MSc in Sustainable Peace through Sport; Max Pouwels, MBA; Christos Tsiakos, EMBA) received a digital tablet to reward their academic achievements throughout their studies at IUM.
Last but not least, for the fourth year, Alumnus, Michael Bouchard (MBA class of 2007) offered a check of € 1.000 for the “IUM Monaco Outreach Award” to a student who significantly contributed to a volunteering project within the IUM and Monegasque community. The winner of this special prize this year is Lambert Diacono, Bachelor student. Lambert has been awarded the prize for his initiative in co-creating the association TwoHelp, aimed to raise money to fund education for unprivileged children all around the world.
The ceremony was followed by a celebratory cocktail offered to families and friends in the foyer of the Grimaldi Forum. Champagne glasses and a lot of picture taking ended the afternoon festivities.
Many tears of joy, laughter and memories of a lifetime will be forever pinned on our new Alumni’s hearts.
