Monaco celebrates Saint Roman
The Saint Roman Festival Committee, which was founded in 1868, aims to bring Monegasques together for traditional drinks of friendship, pistou soup and a Mass. Saint Roman, a Roman soldier who converted to Catholicism, was martyred in 258 in Rome before becoming Monaco's second saint, after Saint Devota. This celebration is supported by Monaco Town Hall to strengthen Monegasque identity in a friendly and enjoyable setting.
