MEA: awareness-raising day at sea
On an awareness-raising day at sea, Year 6 (7ème C) pupils from the Principality set off to spend a morning finding out about the Monegasque coast. This educational day was held in connection with the creation of the very first Marine Educational Area (MEA). An expanse marked out by the students is situated between the floating sea wall of Port Hercule and the Oceanographic Museum. The main aim of the trip was to learn about this area from the sea. The children were accompanied by officers from the Marine and Airport Police and from the Department of Maritime Affairs, who told them about the protection and security measures in place in Monegasque territorial waters.
