H.S.H. Prince Albert II looks back at Our Ocean announcements
H.S.H. Prince Albert II attended the second session of the Our Ocean conference held in Chile this year, and declared himself satisfied with the measures adopted during the two-day discussions devoted to the protection of the oceans. In addition to the creation of two huge marine protected areas in Chile, the United States, through Secretary of State John Kerry, also announced two new marine protected areas: one on the coast of Maryland and the other along the side of Lake Michigan. A pioneer in action to protect the environment, the Principality of Monaco has had its own marine protected area since 1999, the Pelagos sanctuary.
