Public Speaking Competition: playing with words
For the 2nd Public Speaking Competition organised by the Monaco section of the Association des Membres de l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques (AMOPA, Association of Members of the Order of Academic Awards), pupils from the Principality took to the stage in turn to perform short plays before an audience at Monaco’s Vocational and Catering School. The theme of the competition, which is aimed at students in Years 5–7 (8ème–6ème), was “playing with words”, and the finals were held following a preselection process. The programme featured two short plays for Year 5 pupils, four for Year 6 pupils and finally four performances for Year 7 pupils. Once all of the competitors had performed, the jury determined the winners.
