In early July, the fully refurbished public beach will once again open to residents and tourists.
All of the businesses that residents used to visit will be offering their services from brand-new premises made available by the State and currently under development:
- Beach operators: La Rose des Vents, Le Neptune, La Note Bleue, Le Miami;
- Le Glacier Mullot;
- La Licorne;
- Le Palais du Maillot;
- Larvotto Gym Center;
- Académie Monégasque de la Mer/Ecole Bleue.
Later, from this winter, residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a completely new commercial area, with seven additional businesses set to add to the existing facilities after the summer.
The Government is keen for the Larvotto resort to be a lively area all year round, and wants to ensure that the selection of local businesses meets the expectations of all types of customers in the Principality.
With this in mind, a call for applicants for the seven new premises will be published in the Journal de Monaco on 14 and 21 May 2021. Applications should be submitted to the State Property Authority by 12 p.m. on 14 June 2021 at the latest.
- Four of the premises are suitable for all types of activity with the exception of food service, and have surface areas of around 103, 98, 62 and 61 square metres.
- Three of the premises can accommodate food service businesses such as restaurants, bars, brasseries, cafés or tea shops and are duplex premises spread across the upper and lower promenades in Larvotto. They have approximate total surface areas of 249, 209 and 185 square metres and plots of 125, 46 and 46 square metres on the upper promenade that can, in the case of food/bar service, be used as terrace space.
The call for applications is deliberately broad to enable a large number of applicants to apply and give the State Property Allocation Committee a chance to choose the most attractive brands and the businesses which will bring life to this new commercial area all year round, while complementing the existing services provided by those opening in the resort from this summer.
For indicative purposes, businesses likely to meet these objectives include contemporary general stores, office and homeware stores, stores selling the latest accessories, beauty salons, or shops selling old-fashioned toys, arts and crafts. Pop-up concepts could also be developed.
Like those which will return in July, the selected businesses will need to open all year round and contribute to creating a lively district.
