On 30 April 2019, the Prince's Government presented the Extended Monaco programme at the Yacht Club, in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II. The priorities of this programme for the digital transformation of the Principality were set out: protecting quality of life, offering a new cycle of economic prosperity and increasing the value of public service.
Following the announcement of the various aspects of this programme, which was implemented by Frédéric Genta, Country Chief Digital Officer, and his staff, 2019 saw the implementation of thirty or so actions in the fields of smart mobility, e-Education and e-Administration.
This was the subject of a Press lunch today at the Yacht Club of Monaco with Frédéric Genta.
#Extended Monaco, nine months later, means:
A stimulated economy and improved online services:
- 100 places higher in the UN ranking of connected States.
- A digital economy in Monaco with a turnover of EUR 826 million, with strong growth showing an increase of 27% between 2013 and 2018.
- A 33% increase in online procedures aimed at facilitating user relations with the administration.
- The 1st digital fundraising operation (ICO) using Blockchain technology.
- Three Acts enabling digital technology to become part of our daily lives (evidentiary value of digital technology, dematerialisation, digital identity, etc).
A connected city:
- An increase of 1,500 soft mobility route calculations per day undertaken via the City Mapper application:
- An increase of 1,000 information requests per day on digital tablets (air quality, cultural programme, etc.,) via 30 new connected public transport shelters.
- An increase of 2,000 journeys per day on electric bikes via the MonaBike application.
- 60 m2 devoted to sport via the Monamove programme, with connected equipment and free coaching accessible through the application.
Education in the digital age:
- 100% of students trained in programming (1 hour per week for ages 3 to 18), a world first.
- An educational guidance aid for students from Years 10 to 13 via the CAESO application.
- A fully equipped 200m² complex (digital classroom, 3D printer, etc.), devoted to e-education, to enable teachers to design new educational content.
An administration that is being modernised:
5% more civil servants and agents connected via messaging tools.
- An increase of 1,000 online training modules for civil servants and Government officials.
- 1.4 tonnes of paper saved thanks to dematerialisation within the Administration.
