Yesterday, the 6th Monaco Business, an event for companies from Monaco and the Côte d'Azur, took place. It was opened by Jean Castellini, Minister of Finance and Economy, representing H.E. the Minister of State. At this fair, lectures and debates were held throughout the day on topical issues such as the smart nation, cyber security, and the blockchain. In addition, Gilles Tonelli, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, gave a speech on the subject of Monaco and Europe.
Other topics addressed were assistance for company development at the national and international levels and the challenges Monaco is facing with regard to digital transition, as discussed by Country Chief Digital Officer Frédéric Genta.
For the first time, a "Digital Prize," recognising an innovative, patented idea in the field of technology, was awarded by Frédéric Genta to the start-up Surgisafe, which is supported by MonacoTech, for the Tamanoir project. This is a smart suction cannula that can immediately detect abnormal or cancerous tissue during surgery, as well as leakages of bodily fluids in critical medical situations. This revolutionary, single-use, low-cost medical device improves outcomes by reducing morbidity and mortality.
